1/4 c Baking cocoa 1/2 c Packed brown sugar
1/2 c Sugar 1/2 c Hot strong coffee
---------------------------CAKE:--------------------------------
1/3 c Butter or margarine 1 1/2 ts Baking powder
2/3 c Sugar 1/4 ts Salt
ea Egg 1/3 c Milk
1/2 ts Vanilla extract Ice cream or whipped cream,
1 c All-purpose flour Optional
In a saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients and keep warm.
Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg and
vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder and
salt; add alternately with milk to the egg mixture. Spread into a
greased 8-in. x 8-in. baking pan. Pour sauce over the batter. Do not
stir. Bake at 350 deg. for 45-50 minutes or until the cake tests
done. When finished, the cake will float in the hot mocha sauce.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired. Yield: 9
servings.
