1 1/2 lb Green beans -- fresh halved 3 tb Fresh savory -- minced
1 md Onion -- cut into rings Or 2 or 3 teaspoon dried
1 ea Celery ribs -- sliced Savory
3 ea Carrots -- cut 2 inch 1 c Water
Strips 1/8 ts Pepper
1 ts Salt -- optional
In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce
heat; cover and simmer for 5-10 min. or until vegetables are tender,
stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon to a serving dish.
Yield 6 servings: Diabetic Exchanges: One serving (prepared without
added salt) equal 1 1/2 vegetable; also, 41 calories, 20 mg sodium, 0
cholesterol, 9 gm carbohydrate, 2 gm protein, trace fat.
