6 c Ripe peaches -- sliced 1 c All-purpose flour
Peeled 1 c Sugar
1/4 c Packed brown sugar 1 ts Baking pawder
3 tb All-purpose flour 1/4 ts Salt
1 ts Lemon juice 1/4 ts Ground nutmeg
1/2 ts Grated lemon peel 1 ea Egg -- beaten
1 ts Lemon juice 1/2 c Butter or margarine --
1/2 ts Ground cinnamon Melted and cooled
TOPPING: Vanilla ice cream, optlonal
Place peaches in a greased shallow 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Combine
brown susar, flour, lemon juice and peel and cinnamon; sprinkle over
the peaches. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and
nutmeg. Stir in egg until the mixfure resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle over the peaches. Pour butter evenly over topping. Bake at
375 deg for 35-40 minutes. Serve with ice cream if desired. Yield:
10-12 serving
