2 lb Turnips; peeled and cubed 2 tb Bacon drippings
2 md New potatoes; unpeeled and 1/2 ts Salt
-cubed 1/2 ts Pepper
1 ea Bay leaf 1/8 ts Red pepper
4 c Water 2 tb Minced fresh parsley
1 md Onion; chopped
Combine turnips, potatoes, bay leaf, and water in a Dutch oven.
Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes or until
vegetables are tender. Drain; remove bay leaf.
Saute onion in bacon drippings until tender. Add turnips,
potatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper; toss gently. Spoon into
serving dish; sprinkle with parsley.
