Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:
2 c White sugar
2 tb Shortening
1 ts Cinnamon,
1 ts Nutmeg
1 ts Cloves
1 lb Raisins (seeded)
2 c Cold water
3 c Flour
1 ts Soda
1 ts Salt
1 ts Vanilla
combine 1st.7 ingrediences in saucepan, stir and bring to a boil over
medium heat and boil 5 min. Let cool. Then add vanilla. Add the
flour, soda and salt mixture at the same time add cut up cherries
nuts at least a 1/2 cup each. I also add a cup regular raisins. Pour
batter into a greased floured tube pan and bake in
350 oven 1 1/2 hrs.
