4 lg Green peppers 1/2 c Long grain rice
Water 1/2 c Water
Dash Salt 1/4 ts Salt
Nonstick Cooking Spray 1/4 ts Pepper
1 tb Ground Sirloin or Turkey 1 1/2 tb Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c Finely chopped onions 1/2 ts Dried oregano, crushed
16 oz Can Tomatoes, Chopped, 3/4 c Grated, mozzarella cheese
-Undrained
Halve peppers lengthwise. Clean. Cook peppers in boiling water for 3
minutes. Drain and sprinkle insides with a little salt.
Spray a skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Cook hamburg or turkey
and onion until onion is tender. Drain well.
Stir in tomatoes (undrained), uncooked rice, 1/2 c water, salt and
pepper, worcestershire and oregano. Bring to a boil
Cover and simmer for 20 min or until rice is tender. Stir in 1/2 of
the cheese.
Fill peppers with mixture.
Put in baking dish and bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Remarks: These freeze very well.
