Main Ingredients:
1 C. sugar1/2 C. lard or butter1 C. dark molasses or sorghum2 eggs1/2 t. salt1/2 t. nutmeg1/2 t. cloves1 t. cinnamon3 3/4 C. flour3/4 C. rich sour milk1 t. soda dissolved in sour milkorange peel from 3 oranges
Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:
Mix as usual. Bake in slow oven from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Spread with butter when serving. Excellent with cheese spread
