1 lb Split peas 1/4 ts Garlic salt
2 qt Water 1/4 ts Marjoram
1 Meaty ham bone 1 c Celery, diced
1 1/2 c Onions, sliced 1 c Carrots, sliced
1/2 ts Pepper 1 ts Parsley flakes
Salt to taste
Cover peas with water and soak overnight, or boil gently 2 minutes and
soak for 1 hour. Drain. Add 2 quarts of water, ham bone, onion and
seasonings. Bring to a boil; cover and reduce heat to simmer for 2
hours, stirring occasionally. Remove bone, but off meat. Add
remaining ingredients. Cook slowly for 45 minutes. Salt to taste.
