"Biting into these 2 ea Eggs
-chocolaty 1 1/2 c Flour
-cookies...reveals they're 1/3 c Baking cocoa
-like 1/2 t Salt
Chewy brownies inside." - 1/4 t Baking soda
-From Jonie Adams 2 c Semisweet chocolate chips
2/3 c Shortening (12 oz.)
1 1/2 c Packed brown sugar 1/2 c Chopped walnuts or pecans,
1 T Water (Optional)
1 t Vanilla extract
In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening, sugar, water and vanilla.
Beat in the eggs. Combine flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda;
gradually add to creamed mixture and beat just until blended. Stir in
chocolate chips and nuts if desired. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2"
apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9
minutes; do not overbake. Cool 2 minutes before removing to wire
racks. Note: I made these cookies and they were very good! They do
taste just like brownies. Be sure not to over- bake them. - Debbie
