2 Eggs 1 c Chopped dates
1 c Confectioners sugar 3/4 c Chopped pecans or walnuts
1 tb Shortening, melted 1 ts Vanilla
1/4 c Flour Confectioners sugar
1/2 ts Baking powder
The dates give a special flavor to this easy to make dessert.
Preheat oven to 325ø. In a bowl, beat eggs until light. Add sugar and
shortening; blend well.
Sift flour and baking powder together and blend well. Stir in dates,
nuts and vanilla. Blend well.
Pour into greased 8 x 8-inch pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Cool on wire
rack. Cut in small squares or oblongs. Roll in confectioners sugar.
Store in covered container.
