1/2 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Sugar
1/2 c Lard
1 Egg
1 ts Vanilla
1 ts Salt
3/4 c Flour
1 1/2 c Oatmeal
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Nuts, chopped
Cream together the sugars and lard, till nice and fluffy. Add egg and
beat well again. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and baking
soda. Add a little at a time to sugar mixture. Stir in oatmeal and
nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto an baking sheet and bake in a 350 degree
oven until light brown, about 10 minutes. Cool and store in a cookie
jar. Put the jar up out of reach of the children!
