Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:

2 qt Popcorn -- popped 1/4 c Butter or margarine
1 c Sugar 1/2 ts Salt
1/3 c Light corn syrup -- or dark 1 ts Vanilla extract
1/3 c Water

Place popcorn in a baking pan and keep warm in a 200 deg. oven while
preparing syrup. In a 2 quart saucepan, stir together sugar, corn
syrup, water, butter and salt. cook over med. heat, stirring
constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Continue cooking without
stirring until the temperature reaches 270 deg on a candy
thermometer. Remove from the heat. Add vanilla; stir just enough to
mix. Slowly pour over the popcorn. Cool just enough to handle. Shape
with buttered hands. Yield: 1 doz.
