2 lb Steak, round; cut 1/2" thick 1 Orange; unpeeled, thinly
1/4 c Flour -sliced
1 ts Salt 1 md Onion; thinly sliced
1/4 ts Black pepper 1 Lemon; unpeeled, thinly
3 tb Shortening -sliced
1 c Catsup 6 Cloves, whole
1/2 c Water
Cut steak into 6 serving-size pieces. Combine flour, salt, and
pepper; pound into steak. Brown steak in hot shortening. Arrange
steak in baking dish. Combine catsup and water and pour over meat.
Place orange slices on top of meat; top with onion slices, then lemon
slices. Stick a whole clove in each stack. Cover dish and bake at
350 degrees for 1 hour or until meat is tender.
