Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:

1 1/4 c Sugar 3 1/2 c Flour
1/2 c Shortening 1/4 ts Salt
2 Eggs, well beaten 1 ts Baking powder
1 c Buttermilk 1 ts Lemon extract
1 ts Soda 1 ts Orange extract

Mix ingredients in order given. Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Chill
dough in refrigerator overnight. Roll out small amounts of dough at
a time. Roll to thickness of a pencil and about ten inches long.
Shape into figure 8 on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 10
minutes at 425 degrees or until light brown. Remove from oven. Dip
