1/2 c Sugar
1/2 c Butter
1 Egg, well beaten
1 1/4 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
pn Salt
1 Lemon rind, grated
Walnut halves
Mix sugar and butter together until creamy. Beat in egg. Add flour,
baking powder, salt and lemon rind. Mold into balls half the size of
a walnut. Lay on greased tine and press down with a fork dipped in
flour. Place half walnut on each and bake in a moderate oven until
browned.
Many of the recipes in this collection did not contain amounts or oven
temperatures. I have typed them in as they appear in the book, typos
and all.
