Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:

2 ea Eggs beaten 1 t Baking powder
1 c Sugar 1 t Baking soda
1 c Buttermilk 1 t Salt
2 T Melted shortening 1/2 t Nutmeg
3 1/2 c Flour

Beat egg and sugar together. Beat in the buttermilk and melted
shortening. Sift flour with baking powder, baking soda, salt and
nutmeg and stir into the egg mixtu. Mix well but dont beat. Turn out
ono a floured board, knead lightly, then roll out and cut, deep fry
370 turning only once Drain on brown paper or a paper towel. These
