Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:
8 c Tart cooking apples 1/2 c Packed brown sugar
Chopped peeled (about 3-1/2 2 ts Vanilla extract
Pounds) 1 ts Ground cinnamon
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan or Dutch oven. Cover and
cook over medium-low heat for 30-40 minutes or until apples are
tender. Remove from the heat; mash apples (a potato masher works
well) until sauce is desired consistency. Serve warm or cold. Yield:
6 servings (about 3-1/2 cups)
