5 oz. ground cinnamon
10 tbsp. applesauce, warmed
Acrylic paints (optional)

Mix cinnamon and applesauce until mixture forms a ball, adding more if necessary. Knead dough on wooden cutting board dusted with cinnamon. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Using a drinking straw or coffee stirrer, cut hole in top of each ornament for hanging. Place on wire screen or cooling racks to air dry (about 6 days). To speed drying process, place in 200 degree F. gas oven for 3 hours. Ornaments may be decorated with acrylic paints. Make ornaments or garlands by threading ribbon through holes.
