IN A SAUCE PAN, COMBINE SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, BUTTER, CREAM OF TARTAR AND
SALT. BOIL RAPIDLY ON MEDIUM HIGH HEAT, STIRRING CONSTANTLY UNTIL MIXTURE
REACHES 260 DEG F. REMOVE FROM HEAT. STIR IN SODA, MIXING WELL. IMMEDIATELY
POUR OVER CORN IN A LARGE BOWL. STIRRING TO COAT CORN WELL. PLACE IN A
LARGE BUTTERED ROASTING PAN OR BAKING SHEET AND BAKE FOR ONE HOUR IN A
PREHEATED OVEN AT 200 DEG F. STIR 3 OR 4 TIMES TO COAT ALL PIECES.
