1 ts Vegetable oil 1 ts Salt
2 cl Garlic, chopped 1/2 ts Oregano
1 md Onion, chopped 1/2 ts Basil
1 cn Tomatoes, mashed or pureed 1/2 ts Thyme
1 c Water or beef broth 1/4 ts Ground cloves
1/4 c Tomato paste 1/4 ts Pepper
1 tb Dried parsley
Heat oil in a heavy saucepan. Saute garlic and onion for three
minutes or until limp. Stir in tomatoes, water and tomato paste. Add
parsley, salt, oregano, thyme, basil, cloves and pepper; stir well.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for
one hour, until sauce is reduced by 1/4.
