1 1/2 lb Fresh green beans
3 tb Butter or margarine
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Pepper
1/8 ts Dried whole marjoram
CONVENTIONAL Oven:
Wash green beans. Trim ends, and remove strings; cut into 1-1/2-inch
pieces. Bring 3/4 cup water to a boil in a Dutch oven; add green
beans. Cover, reduce heat to medium, and cook 8 minutes, stirring
frequently. Drain, returning beans to pot. Add butter and remaining
ingredients. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until crisp-tender,
stirring often.
MICROWAVE Directions:
Wash green beans. Trim ends, and remove strings; cut into 1-1/2-inch
pieces. Combine beans and 1/2 cup water in a 2-quart baking dish.
Cover and microwave at HIGH 10 to 12 minutes, giving dish a quarter
turn and stirring after 5 minutes. Drain beans; cover, and set aside.
Combine butter and remaining ingredients in a 2-cup measure.
Microwave at HIGH 30 to 45 seconds or until butter melts. Pour over
green beans, stir well.
