1 1/2 lb Beef, ground 1 ts Seasoned salt
2/3 c Cracker crumbs Oil, salad; hot
1/2 c Onion; chopped 3 Buns, hamburger; warmed(opt)
2/3 c Milk, evaporated
-----------------------HAWAIIAN SAUCE----------------------------
13 1/2 oz Pineapple chunks 2 tb Soy sauce
1/4 c Sugar, brown; firmly packed 1 c Green pepper; coarsley
2 tb Cornstarch -chopped
1/4 c Vinegar
Combine ground beef, cracker crumbs, onion, evaporated milk, and
seasoned salt, blending well. Shape mixture into 6 patties; brown on
both sides in a small amount of hot salad oil. Spoon Hawaiian Sauce
over patties; cover and simmer 15 minutes. Serve each patty on a
bun, if desired.
Hawaiian Sauce: Drain pineapple, reserving juice; add enough water to
equal 1 cup liquid. Combine juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar,
and soy sauce in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring
constantly, until thickend. Add pineapple and green pepper; stir
until blended. Yield: about 2 cups.
