1 c Long-grain rice -- uncooked 2 tb Fresh parsley -- minced
1 c Chopped celery 1/2 ts Dried thyme
3/4 c Chopped onion 1/4 ts Sage -- rubbed
1/3 c Margarine or butter 1/4 ts Pepper
2 1/2 c Water 1 tb Pimientos -- chopped
1 pk Chicken noodle soup, packet Optional
Dry 2 to 2 1/2 oz
In a large skillet, cook the rice, celery and onion in butter,
stirring constantly, until rice is browned. Stir in the next six
ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15
min. Stir in the pimientos if desired. Remove from heat and let
stand, covered for 10 min. Yield 6 servings.
