2 1/2 c Red Bordeaux wine 1 tb Honey
1 Vanilla bean 6 Bartlett or Bosc pears,
1/2 Lemon, sliced thin -peeled
Peeled rind of 1 lemon
In a saucepan add wine, vanilla bean, lemon slices, peel and honey and
bring mixture to a boil. Add pears, reduce heat to simmer and cook
for 10 to 15 minutes or until pears can easily be pierced with a
fork. Continue to cook uncovered until the liquid in the pan
resembles a light syrup, about 15 minutes. Remove pears from pan and
place them on a serving dish. Spoon syrup over pears. Serve at room
temperature.
