1 1/4 c Flour -- sifted
1/4 ts Salt
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 ts Cream of tartar
4 tb Butter
1 c Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 c Milk
1/3 c Brown sugar
2 tb Cinnamon
Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda and cream of tartar.
Cream the butter, gradually adding the sugar. Beat until fluffy,
then add the egg. Add the flour mixture, alternating with the milk.
Turn into an 8-inch-square buttered pan. Sprinkle with the brown
sugar and cinnamon. Bake in a 350 degree oven 30 minutes. Serve
