Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:
1/2 c Sugar
1 ts Salt
1 ts Cream of tartar
2 ts Ginger
1 c Shortening
1 c Molasses
2 ts Soda
1 c Warm water or tea
1 ts Vanilla
Mix 1st. six ingredients and add the soda disolved in the warm water
or tea. Add enough flour to roll. Bake in moderate oven 12 to 15 min.
