2 1/2 c All purpose flour 1/2 c Margarine
1/2 c Sugar 1 c Hot water
1 ts Baking soda 1/2 c Molasses
1/2 ts Salt
In mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt. Cut
in margarine until mixture is like crumbs. Set aside. Stir together
water and molasses. Remove 1/3 cup of the crumbs mixture and set
aside. Into large amount of crumb mixture, add water and molasses
mixture. Stir until blended. Put in greased 8-inch square baking
pan. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 25
to 30 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
