8 oz Lean sirloin or top round --
About 1-inch thick
2 ts Reduced-sodium soy sauce
1 md Onion -- peeled and sliced
1 md Cucumber -- peeled and
Sliced
1 tb Lime juice
1 tb Fish sauce (nam pla)
1/2 ts Hot pepper sauce
Romaine leaves
Preheat broiler. Sprinkle the sirloin with soy sauce and rub it into
the surface. Broil about 5-1/2 inches from the heat source until
cooked through, about 7 minutes on each side for rare. Let the steak
relax for 10 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain. Toss with
the onion and cucumber. In a small bowl combine the lime juice, fish
sauce, and hot pepper sauce. Pour over the salad an toss well to
combine. Arrange the salad on romaine lettuce and serve warm.
