Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:
1/2 c Shortening 2 ts Baking powder
1 1/4 c Sugar 1 c Corn meal
2 Eggs Milk
Cream shortening and sugar, beat in eggs. Stir in baking powder, corn
meal and enough milk to make a light cake batter. Bake in a slow oven
(300 degrees) until it tests done, 45 minutes to an hour.
Many of the recipes in this collection did not contain amounts or oven
temperatures. I have typed them in as they appear in the book, typos
and all.
