Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:
1 c Shortening
2 c Brown sugar
2 ea Egg
To above mix
1/2 c Water
1 ts Vanilla
In another bowl mix;
3 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Salt
1 ts Baking soda
1/8 ts Cinnamon
Mix well, then combine bowls
-----------------FILLING; COOK UNTIL THICK----------------------
Stir constantly
2 c Dates -- chopped
3/4 c Sugar
3/4 c Water
When thick add
1 c Pecans -- chopped
drop 1 teaspoon dough, add 1/2 teaspoon filling and 1/2 teaspoon
dough on top. Bake at 375
