See below ingredients and instructions of the recipe
3 T Olive oil 1 C Water
1 Garlic clove 2 t Basil, dried
1 sm Onion, chopped 1/4 t Black pepper
28 oz Tomatoes, crushed 3/4 t Salt (or less to taste)
16 oz Tomato paste Oregano (optional)
Brown the garlic in the olive oil in a 6-qt. pan. Add the onion and brown
until transparent. (You can saute a tomato in here also if you want.) Add
the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring often.
(Longer cooking won't hurt.)
NOTES:
* Very easy and cheap spaghetti sauce -- This recipe is from Consumer
Reports, which rated it as much better than most bottled sauces -- and
cheaper.
You can add whatever additional ingredients you like (shrooms, tomatoes,
etc.) to this basic recipe. It is better than bottled sauces!
