1 T Butter or margarine -cheese (8 oz.)
1 T All-purpose flour 4-6 Slices White or whole
2/3 c Milk -wheat bread, toasted
1 t Worcestershire sauce 4-6 Slices Cooked turkey,
1/2 t Dry mustard -chicken, beef or ham,
1 t Whole caraway seeds -optional
Pepper to taste Chopped fresh parsley
2 c Shredded sharp cheddar
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Stir in flour to
form a smooth paste. Gradually stir in milk. Cook and stir until the
mixture is smooth and thickened. Add the Worcestershire sauce,
mustard, caraway and pepper. Stir until well blended. Add the cheese
stir and cook over low heat until well melted. Cut toast diagonally
and place on individual plates. If desired, top each with a slice of
meat. Spoon cheese sauce over meat and toast. Sprinkle with parsley.
