5 c Water 1/4 ts Pepper
3 c Chopped onion 1 lb Dried lentils
2 c Diced cooked ham 1 cn (14.5-oz.) Fat-free beef
1 c Diced carrot -broth
1 ts Dried rosemary; crushed 2 ea Garlic cloves; chopped
3/4 ts Rubbed sage 1 ea Bay leaf
Combine first 11 ingredients in an electric slow cooker. Cover with
lid, and cook on high-heat setting for 3 to 4 hours, or until lentils
are tender. Discard bay leaf. Garnish with parsley, if desired.
Yield: 11 servings (serving size: 1 cup).
