"I'm particularly fond of 1/2 ts Garlic powder
-these tasty snacks because 1/8 ts Pepper
-they're baked, not 12 Sticks string cheese
Fried." - Mary Merchant 3 tb Flour
2 ea Eggs 1 tb Butter, melted
1 tb Water 1 c Marinara or spaghetti sauce,
1 c Dry bread crumbs -heated
2 1/2 ts Italian dressing
In a small bowl, beat eggs and water. In a plastic bag, combine bread
crumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and pepper. Coat cheese
sticks in flour, then dip in egg mixture and bread crumb mixture.
Repeat egg and bread crumb coatings. Cover and chill for at least 4
hours or overnight. Place on an ungreased baking sheet; drizzle with
butter. Bake, uncovered, at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes or until
heated through. Allow to stand for 3-5 minutes before serving. Use
marinara or spaghetti sauce for dipping. Note: Regular mozzarella
cheese, cut into 4x2x1/2" sticks can be substituted for string
