Cooking Preparation of the Recipe:
1/3 c Tapioca 1/3 c Sugar
1 c Cold water 1/8 ts Salt
2 c Milk 1/4 ts Vanilla
Soak tapioca in cold water at least 4 hours; overnight if you prefer;
do not drain.
Transfer to a large, heavy saucepan, add remaining ingredients except
vanilla, and simmer over lowest heat, stirring now and then, 1 hour.
Off heat, mix in vanilla; serve warm or chilled.
