2 tb Butter or margarine -chopped
2 Hot and 2 sweet Italian 1/2 ts Dried basil
-sausages, sliced into 1/2 1/2 ts Salt
-inch pieces 1/4 ts Dried oregano leaves
2 ea Medium-size sweet red and 1/4 ts Ground black pepper
-green peppers 4 6-inch French rolls or
1 md Onion -6-inch pieces of French
3 Cloves garlic, finely -or Italian bread
1. In large skillet, melt butter over low heat; saute sausage pieces
until well browned and cooked through. Push to side of skillet.
2. Quarter, seed, and thinly slice peppers. Cut slices in half.
Coarsely chop onion. In butter remaining in skillet, saute peppers,
onion, and garlic until just tender. Add basil, salt, oregano, and
black pepper. Stir in sausage pieces.
3. Split rolls; top with sausage-and-pepper filling. Serve
